Any change is cultural change: also if you just switch physical tools in a manufacturing plant, or a software in your finance department, or a process or timeline, you are “importing” the culture embedded within those “tools”.

Sometimes you have to dig deeper to identify the “embedded culture”, sometimes is presented as a “manifesto”, but it is there.

At least, this is my experience since 1986, and even before in politics and while serving in the Army: frankly, it might be my personal interest and background in studying cultures and how they express, but I still have to find something that, when assembled in a presentation or delivery, does not “embed” a culture.

This site used to be a commercial activity- it is now a “knowledgeshare”, from 2025-07-14 focusing on sharing learned lessons since 1986 about consulting.

PRConsulting was a tradename used from February 1990 for change management and organizational development activities, with “online” presence since 1993 (also via e.g. Geocities), and its own domain since 1997.

PR stands for both “Panta Rei” (everything evolves), and PR as communication- as there is no change without an appropriate communication strategy- I selected to associate it with my “placeholder” aleph123.wordpress.com, as aleph123 was the nickname I used when I started in 2007 publishing online articles while in Brussels, but did not want to disclose my name due to my ongoing activities.

The PRConsulting approach was built on experience in politics, sales activities, volunteer work in the university IT laboratory, and minor re-organization activities during the compulsory service in the Italian Army.

On top of that, four years of experience in software development in complex environments, modelling, “number crunching”, financial and sales/production data consolidation and reporting.

The first customers? SME consulting companies, to identify potential crisis sources within their partners: pro-active change management.

Thereafter, from SMEs to software and service companies, to activities for large companies, in various European countries and industries, working on management, negotiations, and auditing activities and suppliers.

Different environments, single thread: change requires focusing on more than the change and its results.

In 1993, when I accepted to support a banking outsourcing customer on a cultural and organizational change journey, while at the same time supporting business intelligence and management reporting software publishers outside Italy

The knowledge shared through this website will be clearly listed as “experience” or “review”: the former being articles or essays based on experience and observation-based analysis, the latter commentary on material published elsewhere, with the links to the original source (or an online bookstore, if not even the abstract of the material is accessible for free online).
